Today we receive an attestation to say that again, I am actually covered 100pc by the Caisse Maladie until 12 days after the birth.... youpi, French paperwork, we are getting there... nothing about my new carte vitale though.

NB the charges I've written in each case are partially refunded by the French Social Security system and the remainder by any mutuelle insurance that you take out. After the fifth month of pregnancy, the social security system then refunds 100pc of the charges - I'll detail these as they come along (except for extras in the hospital / single rooms etc)
