If your little one is born ast l'hopital Arnaud de Villeneuve, daddy doesn't have to trail all the way to the mairie in Montpellier city centre.
Arnaud de Villeneuve now has their own guichet naissances-Etat.
Hopefully this will spread to the other cliniques.

Registering the baby's birth in France
The birth has to be registered within 3 days and by a person who was present at the birth.
It's done at the mairie in the commune in which you've given birth. i.e. Montpellier mairie for me.
Immediately after the birth - you are given a small piece of paper by the mid-wife, they also attach what you are required to provide paperwork-wise, but generally this is:
- the full name of the baby at the time of birth
- the date and place of birth
- father's full name
- mother's full name, including maiden name
You can also find this information on the Mairie website here.
Angloinfo has good information on this too.
