When you see that heartbeat at your first ultrasound, the world stops for just a second and all of the fear and wonder of possibility rushes in. With my first child, the “I am having a baby!” thought filled me with such dreams – I could imagine us, as a family, walking in the park, going to the beach, teaching my child to be a citizen of the world. We could do it! Travel and children are not mutually exclusive, we told ourselves!
